Lake Okeechobee Fishing Guides: Okeechobee Fishing Report 11/14/2020
Dave Steele enjoyed a fantastic day on Big O catching a bunch of nice bass on both artificial and shiners with Lake Okeechobee Fishing Guides. Dave does a lot of fishing up north and wanted to try his hand on the Florida strain of largemouth and he sure did put a hurting on them. With the Okeechobee Lake Levels being over 16 feet the fish have moved back into the lake’s native grasses such as eelgrass, hydrilla, coon tale, cattails, peppergrass, and bullrush. As we move into the next couple of months the fish will be spawning in these areas as well the next full moon is on Nov. 30th and this will more than likely be the first wave of spawning females. We will be catching fish on artificial baits as well as shiners in the coming months with your best chance at an Okeechobee bucket mouth coming with live wild shiners. All of the rainwater we have gotten over the past several months is starting to acclimate to the lake which will also help the water clarity. The clearer water will draw a larger amount of big bass due to the water temps and turbidity of the water to support the eggs and fry. If you haven’t booked your trip yet for the coming months NOW is your chance!
