Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing Guides
Hunter and his Dad came down from Wisconsin to fish with Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing Guides this week. Day 1 we caught nearly 40 bass on artificial with this chunk being one of the best of the day. We fished with various baits this morning catching most of the fish on a swim jig with a swimbait trailer. The fish are eating like crazy right now because there are still tons of shad spawning in the Kissimmee grass and the bullrush. We saw fish busting bait everywhere and the fish came completely out of the water several times to eat the jig. Once the bass fishing slowed we went and found some shellcracker and bluegill and caught them all afternoon and kept just a few for a nice dinner. If I had to guess we caught well over 75 shellcracker the first day we fished for them and 40 or so in an hr on day 2. If you have never had shellcracker as table fare you are missing out! They are so good and such a sweet/flacky white meat fish.
