Fishing Guides Lake Okeechobee
Matt Gaffigan and his family have done it again with Fishing Guides Lake Okeechobee! This family KNOWS how to fish. We didn’t catch a ton of fish today but they sure did catch some bigguns! We fished a couple of days ago and this family dealt with some cold weather and severe winds, however, we ended up catching quite a few fish before ending the day a little early. Today these 3 had no problem with the even colder weather and venturing out to catch these 2 Giant Bass. When you look for a Lake Okeechobee Guided Fishing trip it is important to locate a guide who will work around your schedule and care for your needs as well as the all-important catching Giant large-mouth bass. Matt’s Bass weighed in at just under 8lbs. and his oldest son caught this just under 7lb. When the water gets cold oftentimes is when we catch the biggest fish of the year. Okeechobee Water Levels have been dropping steadily but slowly we are at 12.88 as of today. I prefer a lake level of 13.5 ft. to 12.5 ft. that is when almost all the important spawning and fishing areas are still accessible to both bass and fishermen any lower than that and the fish will be forced to spawn in more open water which leaves them accessible to predatory fish and birds that they typically have some cover from in the marshes. The artificial bite has also continued to get better and better as we approach the height of the Winter season. The Spring artificial bite will be amazing this year based on what we are seeing right now. If you haven’t booked your trip this Spring BOOK NOW HERE!
