Kristi and Tony Savage from TN. came down to see what all the rage is about with these Okeechobee Large mouth and they definitely didn’t disappoint. These guys caught 30 fish in under 4 hrs. on only 5 dozen Wild shiners. TN. is one of my favorite states in all of the U.S so we spent time talking about the mountains the fires and of course Dolly Wood.  Tony spends a lot of time on the water he hasn’t however had a day where he caught so many bass in a day in hos life he said. Over all it was a wonderful day meeting these two and catching plenty of Okeechobee Large Mouth Bass.

Bruce Sherman and his sons Bruce, and Sam came to Okeechobee all the way from D.C. to enjoy some fishing time together and catch some Okeechobee Bass. Well, they caught around 50 going through over 10 dozen shiners and catching fish fast and furious for hours! As you can see in the photos all the fish we caught were fat and healthy fish and they were all let go unharmed. This morning the fog hung until well after 10am which may have helped the fish stay active and eating. The days seem to be getting better and better so now is the time to book your trip come on down and enjoy the beautiful weather and awesome bass fishing with OkeechbeeBassFishing.com.

Long time customers and great friends Van and Dan Frankel came down from NY to fish with Christmas to enjoy some fun and sun. The morning started cool but beautiful and the fish played right along, we caught just under 30 in only 3 1/2 hours and then we enjoyed some time out on the links together playing some golf in the afternoon. These 2 have been coming fishing with Okeechobee Bass Fishing for 10 years now so each year catching up is a blast! Dan works for the PGA and does a lot of travelling and plays a ton of beautiful golf courses as well. They are coming back in March with a friend for some more great fishing as well.

Louis Gubser from Switzerland caught several nice fish today although the weather is cooling off the fish are still chewing! He caught 18 fish on live wild shiners and another half dozen on artificial. Now that the water is finally cooling off the BIG females will start showing up to feed. The crappie fishing has started off slow this year but should quickly start to pick up now that the water temp. has finally dropped. With all the bad publicity from “algae” this year the fishing has still been great. The native grasses are starting to come back and as they do the fishing will continue to get better and better. We are still averaging 24-40 fish a day with some days being better.
