They caught 16 bass in under 4 hrs. The wind picked up this morning making it a little tough to stay anchored but that didn’t stop the BIG bass from eating. Brad caught this 8lber while his son caught this 4lber; both of them catching their personal best! Fishing should only continue to get better and better as the water begins to cool as Fall approaches. Summer time Fishing, Fun and Sun at Lake Okeechobee. The fish have been biting on artificial and shiners. Fish are on the outside grass lines around the Kissimmee grass they are eating spinner baits, swim jigs, fluke and swim baits. The water is crystal clear on the south west side of the lake making fishing once the sun comes up tough because of the shadows cast by the boat and your own. Fish are also being caught in the river on rubber worms and crank baits and you can also find some schooling fish in the river as well which can be caught on just about anything you throw at them. Come on down an enjoy some time on Lake O while the fishing is HOT!

Hot Weather and even HOTTER Fishing!
The summer weather is upon us, the morning bite is so important this time of the year. The shoal, Kings Bar, Horse Island and surrounding areas are great areas for the shad spawn therefore these are the areas where the fish will congregate in the morning hours to feed on the shad fry. Once the sun comes up fish can still be found in deeper areas and some schooling fish can be found for those who are willing to hunt for them. These fish can be caught on shallow running crank baits, chatter baits, spinner baits, and rattle trap type baits. The deeper areas of the lake such as the canals and the Kissimmee River will produce fish as well on crank baits, shaky head and carolina rig. The shiner fishing is still good as well we have been catching some big fish in some of the deeper areas of the lake with large wild shiners. Summer time is often the best time of the year to feel like you have this 750 square mile lake to your self because there are a lot less people down from up north down here. Come on down and enjoy some time on the water catching fish with Okeechobee Fishing Guides! Call today to book your trip ASAP 863-357-0892

The fishing has been awesome this month so come and join us for some awesome fishing and some beautiful weather and LOTS of gators too. The weather has a big effect on the fish right now the overcast days have provided better fishing once the sun comes up. The morning bite is very important right now because thats when the fish have been most active. Graduation is coming for lots of High school students and college students so come on down for some relaxation and fishing!
Johnathan Hammett and his son came down to catch some bucket lip bass and some time together. These guys caught a ton of fish including these beauties caught on both artificial and live wild shiners. We saw some fish chasing shad so we caught some on top water and spinner baits first thing in the morning. Once the sun came up we caught fish on shiners one after another for the first hour with the biggest fish coming on shiners.
