Jerry and his dad Jerome Van Slavens from Kentucky caught these beauts on a live wild shiner today. The bite was on again today with just about every shiner getting hit with in a minute or two of being in the water. The clouds today made the weather perfect and they just couldn’t take a live wild shiner swimming around anywhere near them. The lake level is dropping slowly and the fish are starting to move out of the marsh and to the outsides of grass edges making them an easier target.

Dustin Herrin, Chris O’Brien, and Brian Larscheid are here from all over the United States helping those effected by hurricane Irma. They took some time off to come fishing with Okeechobee Fishing Guides and Oh what a great day it was. We caught nearly 50 fish with 5 being between 5-6 lbs. and 2 over 6 lbs. The weather changed 3 times throughout the day starting at 69 degrees and a soft breeze in the morning going to 62 degrees cloudy and foggy by 9:30 a.m. and blowing about 25 mph from the north and ending the day at 75-80 degrees with a light breeze from the south west. You never know what you are going to get weather wise on the U.S.’s second largest lake but what you will get is a bunch of bass and a great experience.

Seth and Linda Ferguson from Savannah, Ga. enjoyed a great day of catching on Lake Okeechobee.  They caught a ton of nice fish including these beauties pictured.  The wind picked up today but the fish are still eating after a good spawn.  The next full moon will send another round of fish to spawn and hopefully we will get back on some GIANT Okeechobee bass.  The water in the lake continues to drop so the fish are moving around as well.  Come and visit the second largest freshwater lake in the U.S. and the #1 bass fishing lake in the country!

Bill Franklin and his wife Kathy and friend Kim came all the way from Arizona to catch these Okeechobee Bucket mouths. They caught a ton of fish and couldn’t stop talking about the beautiful weather. The fishing is phenomenal! These lady’s have known each other since Kim was in the 3 grade and this has been on Kathy’s bucket list so they made it happen and loved every minute of it.
