Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing- Okeechobee Fishing Report 3/15/19
Danny Koon and his grandson came over from Ft. Myers area to come fishing with us again this year and Lake O didn’t let them down. We caught about 35 bass with this one being 6lbs. The fishing has been so good when the wind slows. The full moon is coming up next week so the fish should be moving up to spawn again. The lake levels are perfect right now we hope they keep the levels at about 12.5 ft above sea level. Crappie fishing will pick up as well as we get closer and closer to the full moon. The artificial bite has been hit and miss some days are good and the next day is tough! But overall the fishing has been great!
Steve Wheeler and his buddy both from Pa. have been looking forward to coming to Okeechobee for 30 years. They finally made and fishing was phenomenal! They caught 42 bass in under 6hrs on 8 dozen wild shiners. These guys have 2 more days with us it sure will be tough to top today! As the weather heats up so will the fishing come on down and enjoy some time on Florida’s largest lake and the U.S’s 2nd largest lake. The fishing is awesome!

Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing is really starting to heat up! These fish are moving up daily to spawn this Spring should be amazing! Nick and his son got to spend some time together bonding, fishing, and catching some nice Florida bass. These guys are returning customers and I am sure they will continue to come back year after year since they seem to catch em up each and every time they join us. The blue bird skys didn’t seem to slow the fish down today like usual, just shows you never know how these fish will react to different situations and weather.

Matt Nora and his son came down to escape the snow and cold to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather and to catch some Okeechobee Swamp Donkeys and boy did they do just that! We caught nearly 60 again today with quite a few fish coming on artificial baits as we ran out of shiners. As you can tell from the photos these are lake fish being white, green, and clean looking. We had so many chances at GIANTS today bu they just wouldn’t eat the baits. They would chase them and blow up on them on the top drag the bobber down and then let it go. Overall it was a beautiful and awesome day on the lake. Water temps. are perfect and the fish are chewing!

The Marino family came down from New York to escape the cold and snow to come out with Okeechobee Fishing Guides Capt. Nate Shellen for some fun and fishing! Saddie (10) caught 8 bass with the one she is holding being her biggest, Tyler(11) caught 11 bass and he also caught the most for the day with the one he is holding being his biggest, Minh caught the BIGGEST Bass of the day being a little over 5 lbs. and Wayne caught the beauty he is holding as well. This family had a bet that whoever caught the biggest bass was going to get called not their name but “BASSMASTER” for the rest of the week. So no more “mommy” for Minh but “bassmaster” she will be for the rest of the week. I absolutely LOVE taking kids fishing and look forward to it each time I have kids on my schedule and these kids were no exception. Can’t wait to see them again next year!
Delbert is a long time and frequent customer and today he brought his buddy Dave from Alaska. These guys caught 50 or so bass with 10 fish over 5lbs and 20 fish over 4lbs. The fish are in full on spawning mode and they are eating like crazy! The fishing ought to continue to get better and better throughout the Spring. These guys are booked for another trip tom. Hopefully we can pull out some Okeechobee Bucket Lips. Okeechobee Fishing Guides will work hard each and every trip to catch you the biggest and most fish.
